Our goal has always been to assist our students to obtain a driver’s license.

Road Test Overview

A road test can be a challenging event. We try to make it less stressful by scheduling the road test for our students and if desired accompanying them on the day of the test.

Our success rate has been high, and the students are always proud of their driving accomplishments.

    Road Tests can be scheduled by calling us at 315.732.5049 or stopping by our Utica location (339 Genesee St.) at 1:00PM every Saturday.

    Be prepared to provide your learners permit and your 5-Hour Course Certificate (MV-278) / Drivers Education Certificate (MV-285).

    Fees & Options

    $15 to Schedule

    • You can pay by cash at the 5-Hour Course.
    • If you wish to schedule over the phone, a credit card can be used and confirmation will be sent via text or email. 

    $240 Full Service

    Includes scheduling your test, a 1-hour lesson and use of a Gigliotti’s car for your test.

    Schedule & Locations

    Your road test appointment will be based on the DMV road test dates available.

    Our Scheduling Service Provides

    • Earliest possible dates available anywhere in NYS.
    • Printed or email/text confirmation of your date, time, and a list of materials needed to be brought with you to the test.
    • Directions to your road test site.
    • Only a $15 fee.
    You must present the original 5-hour course certificate at the time of your road test (pictures or copies are not accepted)

    You cannot change or cancel a road test within 27 hours of your scheduled road test time

    Practice, Practice, Practice

    Most new drivers who fail their road test were not adequately prepared. Professional driving instruction is recommended as well as a meticulous review of the Drivers Manual. If you are under the age of 18 and have a Class DJ or Class MJ permit, make sure you read about supervised practice driving hours required by law that must be certified by your parent or guardian.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    You can take a road test as many times as needed in order to pass the test. After your 2nd failed test you must pay the DMV a skills test fee before taking another test.
    Yes, our service includes scheduling of the test, 1 hour lesson, use of Gigliotti’s car for the test, pick up and drop off in Utica area.
    Yes, once you pass your road test the DMV examiner will give you a temporary paper license which will allow you to drive that day. Your card license will then be mailed to you.
